Welcome to the Remote Gambling Association

29th November 2006:  Responsible Gambling Awareness Day

        Aims of the Day

The aims of the Responsible Gambling Awareness Day are to:

·        Raise awareness of the need to gamble responsibly

·        Make current and potential gamblers aware of Responsible Gambling measures and the support and advice available

·        Educate opinion formers about Responsible Gambling and the socially responsible activities and measures undertaken by RGA members

·        Support operators in and encourage them to ‘go the extra mile’ in raising awareness of responsible gambling

·        Highlight and demonstrate how the remote gambling industry is leading the way of responsible gambling and social responsibility through self-regulatory measures, such as the RGA’s codes of practice

·        Counter misconceptions that ‘problem gambling’ has reached endemic proportions and is ‘out of control’

·        Educate regarding the level of risk when gambling and what is being done to address it

·        Encourage the wider remote gambling industry to adopt similar levels of social responsibility
