Aims of the Day
The aims of the Responsible Gambling Awareness Day are to:
·Raise awareness of the need to gamble responsibly
·Make current and potential gamblers aware of Responsible Gambling measures and the support and advice available
·Educate opinion formers about Responsible Gambling and the socially responsible activities and measures undertaken by RGA members
·Support operators in and encourage them to ‘go the extra mile’ in raising awareness of responsible gambling
·Highlight and demonstrate how the remote gambling industry is leading the way of responsible gambling and social responsibility through self-regulatory measures, such as the RGA’s codes of practice
·Counter misconceptions that ‘problem gambling’ has reached endemic proportions and is ‘out of control’
·Educate regarding the level of risk when gambling and what is being done to address it
·Encourage the wider remote gambling industry to adopt similar levels of social responsibility
